On 31.7.21 Members of B for Blues organised a pediatric Health Check up Camp for children beneficiaries of our Centre. Around 75 children were screened. An awareness session was also held for the children on health and hygiene best practices.
On 10th July an awareness session on Family Planning was organised in association with Parivar Seva and Rotary Club of Calcutta Sutanuti. 35 women attended the session. They were informed about the various family planning methods. It was an interactive session and many doubts, misconceptions were cleared.Each women was given
With sponsorship from Rotary Club of Calcutta Sutanuti, 10 women group members were distributed sewing machines so that they can augment their income by having their own set up.
LGWCDC received huge amount of dry ration from students of Sushila Devi Birla Girls High School. Some of this dry ration was distributed to our beneficiaries and with the rest we organised community lunch for our beneficiary children, women and their families.
On 12th June An awareness session was conducted in the community virtually to observe Anti child Labour Day. A video on child laour and rights of children where showed to the parents and children. They were motivated to report any case of child labour that they come across to 1098
On 5th June Youth members of LGWCDC made posters on the theme of environment and pollution and appealed to the public to save water, plant trees and recycle plastic. Children planted saplings in used plastic bottles to contribute to a pollution free environment.
On 31st May an awareness session was held virtually with Community people to inform them on the ill effects of Tobacco through a video.
In the month of May between 1st and 15th with support from Inner Wheel Club of Kolkata Evergreen awareness session on Menstrual Hygiene was conducted at our various units. 50 women attended the sessions and all were given a packet of Sanitary Napkin.
On 24.4.21 A health camp was organised in Santoshpur , Budge Budge by our Project Team. The camp was conducted in association with Rotary Club of Calcutta Sutanuti and Rotary Club of Salt Lake Central. Like every year this year also youths of LGWCDC observed World Earth Day. They went to the Maidan early in the morning and carried out a garbage cleaning drive. 46 youths participated in the event.
