International Youth Day

International Youth Day was observed by the Youth Network of all the 3 states of West Bengal, Orissa and Jharkhand through various activities. In west Bengal the Youths participated in an online Debate on the topic- Should Water be taxed?- 12 youths participated in the debate while another 20 youths joined as audience. The judges for the debate were Ms.Koel Chowdhury, Regional Coordinator, Eastern Zone, Terre des Hommes ,India, Mr.Anup Kumar Dey, UNDP Personnel and Ms.Suranjana Basu Das, Jt.Secretary, Lake Gardens Women and Children Development Centre. Ms.Shampa Sen & Shrabani Bera were adjudged Best Speaker, the first runner up was Koushik Sarder and 2nd Runner up was  Jayanti. the whole program was moderated by the Youths- Md.Siraj, Shampa Sen and Srabani Bera.

In Jharkhand a Stake holders meeting was organised  where discussion was held on Climate Change and its consequences, Govt. Officials informed youths about the different schemes for Youths and Environment. officers of Pollution Control Board, Mining Department and Forest Department were present at the event. The youths placed a Charter of Demands to concerned officials.

  

In odisha the youths took out a rally in the village to aware the community people to protect the environment, they planted saplings in the school premises and took an oath to fight against climate crisis
