A women empowerment conclave was organised by German Football Academy on July 21st 2017. 7 Sheroes spoke about their lives, inspirations and how sports has played an important role. Among the seven sheroes was Our President Ms.Suranjana Basu Das.
On the 6th of July 2017 LGWCDC stepped into its 25th year and to mark this occasion a cultural program was organised. The children performed songs and dance. The SHG members also sang songs. A theatre group name New Alipore Prachyo enacted a dram based on Gurudev Rabindranath Tagores poem
On the 8th of December, 2016 the SHG members of LGWCDC gathers to Observe Orange Day to Protest Violence against Women. Some members spoke on how they had overcome domestic violence. Short films were shown on the issue.
A workshop on ban of plastic bag usage was held on 18-19 October 2016 at IITD, Kolkata.27 youths from 9m Organisations participated in the Workshop. Youths painted slogans and logos on cloth bags. all the participants went to the nearby market place and distributed the cloth bags to customers
LGWCDC observed Child Protection Day on 8th June 2016 at Bantra, Howrah. The day started with a rally from Bantra outpost to Tikiapara Railway/ Bus station. About 70 children, youths and adults participated in the rally.
