Nature Based Start Ups

LGWCDC under its Local to Global Project has supported Youth Groups in each of the 5 states - West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and UP - to initiate nature based start up . These initiatives will not only contribute to a greener and cleaner environment but will also enable the youths to stay in their homes and earn a living rather than migrating to other states and staying in dire conditions.

After submission of 25 proposals - 5 from each State- 5 of them was selected(1 from each State). these initiatives were as follows -

Jharkhand - Clay Cup making( Kullad)

Bihar - Nursery Rearing

Odisha- Nusrsery Rearing and Poultry and Duckery Farming

UP- Vermicompost Making

West Bengal- Cloth Bag making from new as well as old clothes

Each of the initiatives was given a support of Rs.3 lakhs each.

Currently the youths have registered the enterprises and the first batch of production has been marketed.
