Annual Review Meeting -Bhabna Network
On 13th and 14th August the annual Review Meeting of Bhabna Network was held at the Offices of Uddami India Foundation in Ballygunj, Kolkata. The meeting was attended by Partner Organizations and LGWCDC was represented by Ms.sarbari Nag and Ms,Farida Bano both Project Coordinators of their respective Projects.
Bhabna Network came into being in 2011. Presently it has 20 organisations and 1 individual members from Kolkata, North and South 24 Parganas, Howrah, Hooghly, Purulia, Murshidabad, Midnapore and Birbhum. districts.
The Network started due to high rates of child marriage in West Bengal with special focus on South 24 Parganas and focused on collective action and raising awareness and preventing child marriage, and build capacities of grassroot organisations.
The Network was initiated with 11 organisations in 2011 - Swayam, CINI, Suchetana, Hasus, SRDTC, CINI DHU, KDAG, SUK, Madhubati Vivekananda seva pratishthan). In 2025 it is 20 organisation - Swayam, Agamee, Uddami India Foundation, Anjali, Equi diversity foundation, Lake Gardens Women and Children Development Centre(LGWCDC), Sanchar A.R.O.D, SEWA, LWSIT (Lutheran World Service India Trust ), Talash, Prayash,NOSKK, Sarenga Pally Samaj Gram Kalyan Samity, CINI, Institute of social Work (ISW), Rupantaran Foundation, Jadavpur Bondhu Collective Social Welfare Society, Samaj Unnayan Kendra (SUK), Sutanutir Sakhya, Jeevika Development Society.
