State-Level Youth Workshop on “Breaking the Chain & Eliminate Child Marriage & Ecological Rights”

The first day of the State-Level Youth Workshop on “Breaking the Chain of Child Marriage and Ecological Rights” began with great enthusiasm and participation from youth representatives across various districts. The workshop aimed to strengthen youth understanding and leadership in addressing two critical social issues — child marriage

District-level multi-stakeholders, including district government officials, civil society members, and child protection representatives, Unicef Representatives actively participated and motivated the youth to take concrete actions in their communities. They emphasized the crucial role of young people in breaking the cycle of child marriage through awareness, education, and advocacy.

As part of the field activity, youths organized a powerful street skit at the Koderma market to raise awareness among the local community about the harmful effects of child marriage. Through the skit, they conveyed messages about the importance of girls’ education, legal marriage age, and equal opportunities for all children. They also distributed Childline 1098 helpline numbers to the public, encouraging community members to report any cases of child marriage or child abuse.

The day concluded with interactive discussions, reflections, and a renewed commitment from the youth to continue advocacy and action at the grassroots level to eliminate child marriage.
