Swayamsiddha

On 22.08.25, ICDP and HCDI project team attended the “Swayamsiddha” program, an initiative of the West Bengal Police aimed at preventing human trafficking and child marriage by empowering young individuals through awareness, knowledge, and skills. The program was organized by Rabindranagar Police Station. Honourable MLA of Maheshtala, the Superintendent of Police of Maheshtala, and Ms. Mahua Sur Ray, Chairperson of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Kolkata, who were present in this programme shared their valuable thoughts with the students of six schools under the jurisdiction of the police station.
Three trafficking survivors shared their stories with the students, leaving a powerful impact. In this gathering, LGWCDC had the opportunity to showcase its work and highlight the organisation’s strong commitment to ending child marriage and trafficking by empowering youth and women. It was a great privilege that the drawings created by our youth were displayed in the program.
