Climate Literacy Session
On 17th August, a climate literacy session was conducted by one of our core youth members with a new group of second-line leadership members. A total of 23 participants took part in the session. The discussion focused on the different types of ecosystems and the importance of local biodiversity.
As part of the session, the participants were given a task to observe the local biodiversity in their area. They were asked to speak with elders in their community to learn about the plants and animals (flora and fauna) that used to be commonly found nearby but are no longer seen. Based on their conversations and personal observations, they are to prepare a list of these species along with a short summary of their interviews with elders. The participants will submit their findings and observations in the next month.
This activity is part of our Project Local to Global-Strengthening, Networking and Capacity Building of Youths for their Right to a Clean and Healthy Environment supported by TdH-BMZ, Germany.
