Youth Exposure Visit

Youth Exposure Visit was organized under Local to Global Project Youth Exposure Visit was organized under Local to Global Project to Karnpura Panchayat: Learning from a Model of Sustainable Farming and Livelihood

A group of youth from various villages recently participated in an exposure visit to Karnpura Panchayat. The purpose of this visit was to help young people understand how the local community has built a sustainable model of farming and livelihood while being sensitive to environmental concerns.

During the visit, the youth observed how farmers in the village have successfully utilized various government schemes—particularly under MGNREGA—for water conservation, bunding, and the construction of farm ponds. These efforts have significantly improved irrigation and water availability for agriculture.

One of the most inspiring aspects of the visit was the demonstration of integrated farming systems, which include fish farming, poultry, duck rearing, and organic agriculture. By combining these practices, the farmers have created multiple income sources while promoting eco-friendly methods.

The youth learned that the success of this model lies in informed leadership, collective community action, and the effective use of government schemes. They expressed that this visit not only enhanced their understanding of sustainable practices but also motivated them to replicate similar models in their own villages.

This exposure visit served as an educational and empowering experience, equipping young changemakers with the vision to bring positive and sustainable transformation in their communities.
