State Level Youth Consultation Meeting – Uttar Pradesh

A state level youth consultation meeting was organized in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, on 25th January 2025, which focused on promoting organic farming. In this program, Barabanki Sadar MLA Mr. Suresh Yadav ji, Block Chief Mr. Dharmendra ji, District Agriculture Officer Mr. Dinesh ji and 02 village heads were present. Around 100 participants including youth and farmers along with representatives of other NGOs

participated. The discussions focused on encouraging organic farming practices and reducing dependence on chemical-based farming. Experts highlighted the environmental and health benefits of organic farming along with the adverse effects of chemical fertilizers and pesticides and youth and farmers debated village level issues with officials. The session also focused on strategies to support farmers in adopting organic practices, including training, subsidies and market linkages. The consultation concluded with a shared commitment to promote sustainable agricultural practices across the state as well as the promotion of Vermicompost
