PINKATHON_2018

Like previous year, this year too, LGWCDC had participated with her youth members in the famous PINKATHON, supported by United Sister’s Foundation which started at Ranger’s Club on 1st April, 2018. This event is much more than a marathon as far as a woman’s health is concerned. The major cause for this marathon is “beating the breast cancer”; however the major focus is on women health. The theme for this year was “Health Family makes a Healthy Society, which will form a Healthy Nation”.

This year LGWCDC participated with her 11 female youth members along with 2 adult guardians. We participated in the marathon wearing our PINKATHON t – shirts, holding the placards and banners from 6 in the morning. The placards were promoting child rights, right to play for children and saving and protecting the ecology. Milind Soman, the founder of PINKATHON staged a vibrant programme showcasing and promoting women’s health and its importance. The marathon began from 7 in the morning and the youth members walked for 3 km for near about an hour. At the end of the marathon the participants were given PINKATHON goodies and refreshments to gain back their strength and energy.
