Green Club – an Initiative of the Children

Green Club is a forum of the slum children of Lake Gardens and nearby areas who promote ecological conservation and campaign for the protection of the environment. This forum was formed last year when children came up themselves with small steps of teaching their friends and neighbours about how to save water, campaigned against usage of plastics, planting small saplings wherever possible and many more programmes where they can keep their surroundings clean and healthy. They carry their campaign in their schools, promote among their friends and neighbours and even organize street plays where people can be included to make it more successful.
